The Exceptional Necropool of Fort Béveaux and the battle of September 1944 lets you know already a bit about the history of our region. One retrieves here vestiges of "dolmens", Roman ROADS, abbeys and monuments.

The vastitude and the wealth of the Necropool of Fort Béveaux let US think that this region already counted a large number of inhabitants who lived verry organised and this already as from the neolithic era.

The Treaty of November 587 and the history Europénne

The Treaty of November 587 confirmed that Andelot has played a large role in the history of Europe. This text is considered as the first diplomatic document of the history of France which has been remained completely.

On 28 November 587 Gontran, the king of Burgundy, and Childebert II, king of Austrasie (represented by its mother the queen Brunehaut) have signed the Treaty of Andelot.

To explain you in short, this treaty was signed to make an end to the civil war which opposed, within the sincere kingdom, the partisans of Austrasienne Brunehaut and Neustrienne Frédégonde.

Since short time the inhabitants of Andelot celebrated this day with events such as: discussions, debates, exhibitions and concerts.
